The Russian Anti-Doping Agency — the national anti-doping organization — was established in accordance with Article 26.1 of Federal Law No. 329-FZ «On Physical Culture and Sport in the Russian Federation». RUSADA’s primary mission is to protect the fundamental right of athletes to participate in doping-free competition.

Working with RUSADA is mandatory for everyone covered by the Russian Anti-Doping Rules. This includes legal entities (from executive authorities in the field of physical culture to individual clubs) and individuals (athletes, athlete support personnel, and other stakeholders).

Violating anti-doping rules leads to serious consequences, including:

− Ineligibility (disqualification) for several years.

− Annulment of results achieved since the sample collection date.

− Forfeiture of prize money and grants.

Sanctions for anti-doping rule violations, beyond ineligibility, annulment of results, and forfeiture of prize money (excluding grants) regarding athletes:

− Administrative liability:

Article 6.18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. Violation of anti-doping requirements established by legislation on physical culture and sport.

− Disciplinary liability:

Article 348.11 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. Termination of the employment contract.

− Criminal liability:
